This week, the TLPGA Tour makes its way to the Tsai Hsing Elite Club for the 2024 Jing-Mao Ladies Open. 101 players from four nations will be vying for the NT$540,000 top prize in the NT$3 million event through Wednesday to Friday.
Defending champion, LPGA’s Epson Tour campaigner Juliana Hung (洪玉霖) and recent Epson Tour Championship at Indian Wells winner Lin Heater Tze-Han (林子涵) traveled back from the US circuit to compete at the home event.
One of the most in-form player this Summer and three-time winner on the 2024 TLPGA Tour, Chang Ching-Ling (張靖翎) is set to tee it up this week as well. Shih Cheng-Hsuan (石澄璇) and Thai star P.K. Kongkraphan are both looking to match Chang’s achievement by taking their third victory of the year.
“I had an amazing time last year here at the Jing-Mao Open, where I made a lowest career round,” said 2023 champ Juliana Hung. “Jing-Mao Open always took place in July but thanks for the schedule change to October this year that I could use the break from the Epson Tour to come back and defend my title.”
“I’m still not at 100% confidence level yet, to be honest. I haven’t been able to play as well as I would hope to. But coming back here at Jing-Mao, there is just that great, positive, calming energy. I hope I can bring out my best game and that I have a fun time here,” Hung said.
Players got to test the new venue Tsai Hsing Elite Club one last time at the pre-tournament pro-am event. The competition layout is set at 6,339 yards long.
First-round action begins at 6:30 on Wednesday morning from both first and tenth tees. A cut will be made after the second round and only the top-50 and ties move into Friday’s final round.
Additional hole-in-one prizes from Departure, Franz, SAMPO, EAGLE Golf, and BESV E-Bike will be on offer for the first ace on the par-3s
Title sponsor Jing Mao Construction joined the TLPGA Tour since 2022. “I’m happy to witness our third annual Jing-Mao Ladies Open running and that there are more and more international players joining us. Almost half of the field is composed of players overseas,” said Jing Mao CEO Fan B-F.. “I think this indicates the depth and the overall quality of the TLPGA Tour has just been improving so rapidly over the last few years. And Jing-Mao Construction is just really proud to take part it such an incredible journey. I hope the players all will enjoy themselves in this picturesque setting on the Tsai Hsing course over the next few days.” |
