The 2013 TLPGA Chung Cheng Heritage Tour kicks off tomorrow at the Chang Gung Golf Club, where 30 professional female players will be grouped with 126 amateurs and juniors for the passing and “heritage” of experiences, for which the series of tournaments are named. The player with the lowest score in Group Professionals will be awarded with NT$71,000 first-place prize, with a total purse at NT$600,000.

All 156 players are categorized by age. Besides Group Professionals, there are Group Amateurs of Men’s/Women’s 16-25, Boys’/Girls’ 12-16, and Juniors’ 8-12.
Chung Cheng Heritage Tour is one of the five pro-junior events on the 2013 TLPGA Tour schedule. The 30 professional entry includes the Technology Cup winner from two weeks ago, Shih Huei-Ju (石惠如), and the champion at the TLPGA Heritage Tour at the Tao Yuan Golf &Country Club in March, Chang, Hsuan-Ping (張瑄屏).
One of the main projects of the TLPGT over the past year has been to be included in WWGR, and receive recognition and world ranking points as other member tours. Tour must have a minimum yearly schedule of ten events to gain eligibility in the application of the membership, while this year the TLPGA had shown its ambitions and released the calendar with up to a total of 20 events, including 5 pro-junior tournaments and 13 professional tournaments (5 co-sanctioned with LAGT, 1 co-sanctioned with KLPGT, and the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship sanctioned with GAROC and USLPGA).
First groups of the opening round of the 2013 Chung Cheng Heritage Tour will start at Hole 1 and 10 at 7 a.m. tomorrow, and the final group will tee-off at 10 a.m.. |
