The TLPGA Heritage Series will make its first stop of the season at Tao Yuan Golf & Country Club, where 44 professional female players will be grouped with 48 amateurs and juniors for the passing and “heritage” of experiences, and compete on 14-15 Mar. for a NT$110,000 winner prize at the 2013 TLPGA Heritage Tour.
This tournament counts the combined score of 36 holes in two rounds. The first round starts at 7 a.m. tomorrow and the winner in Group Professionals will earn NT$110,000 with total prize money of up to a million dollars.
Besides Group Professionals, the amateurs and junior players will also be in action. The 2013 Heritage Tour is the first of the five pro-junior series events on the calendar, for creating a chance for younger talents to play along with the pros and learn.
Tao Yuan Golf & Country Club becomes the backdrop of a TLPGA tournament for the third time after 2003 and 2007, with a length of 6169 yards on its West and South courses. Putting proves to be crucial as players will have to overcome the difficult greens of this course to make a difference.
Kuo Ai-Chen (郭艾榛), the Yeang Der TLPGA Ladies Open winner in January and the 4th-ranked on 2012 TLPGA Official Money List, will head the list. Other notable TLPGA Tour players scheduled to compete include Liu Yi-Chen (Babe) (劉依貞), TLPGA title winner Yu Pei-Lin (余珮琳), Tsai Pei-Ying (蔡佩穎), Lin Tzu-Chi (林子麒), Chien Pei-Yun (錢珮芸) and Lee Min (李旻), who has just recovered from a cecum surgery back in January.
The TLPGA Qualification Tournament will also be held at the same place through a 54-hole contest. |
