The 2019 ICTSI Pradera Ladies Classic action will unfold on Wednesday, as 91 players from nine countries will be competing over three days at the Pradera Verde Golf & Country Club for a total purse of $80,000.
The Pradera Verde leg is the third and final event in the season to be co-sanctioned by the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT). It is overall the ninth stop on the 2019 TLPGA Tour.
The TLPGA Tour continued to develop its international status by oversea partnerships. Members of the TLPGA Tour not only get to play at home but abroad to gain more competitive experience.
The highest ranked TLPGA Tour player among the group is no.3 Chen Hsuan (陳萱), whose best finish this year has been a runner-up at the SAMPO Ladies Open. Lin Tzu-Chi (林子麒), no.6 at the moment, will hope to improve from a T8 finish in Laguna in March at The Country Club Ladies Invitational. No.8 Huang Ching (黃靖) will also be a strong force to be reckoned with, who’s no stranger to the winning taste in the Philippines as the Midlands leg champion last year.
Young sister act Hou Yu-Sang and Yu-Chiang (侯羽桑/侯羽薔) will be expected to catch some eyes this week. The younger of the two, Yu-Chiang already has a title to her name, having won the TLPGA Ladies Open – Nan Pao last May.
Current top-3 on the LPGT Tour Oder of Merit, Pauline del Rosario, Princess Mary Superal, and Dottie Ardina will lead local charge against a host of Taiwanese and Thai elites, taking up 56 places in the 91-player field, as well as respected names from Great Britain, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia. 2016 LPGT prize money winner Ikeda Chihiro is also teeing up this week.
Attention will be on the recent Manila leg champion Arpichaya Yubol, and former ICTSI Tour winner Yupaporn Kawinpakorn, both from Thailand.
Chonlada Chayanun, a steady contender whose best appearance on the 2019 TLPGA Tour is a T4 at the Hitachi Ladies Classic, will be in the Thai contingent also.
Players had their last chance to test the 6,346-yard course today in the traditional 18-hole pro-am, featuring 20 pro women and 60 recreational golfers. In the end, Thai player Nattagate Nimitpongkul and her three teammates emerged triumphant.
The first-round schedule is set to start at 6:40, from the first and tenth tees, with the late wave set off at 9:10. A cut will be made to the top 50 scores after Thursday’s second-round.
