2017 Pacificlinks International TLPGA Heritage Tour starts from today June.21 for two rounds at Taiwan Golf Club; after first round, Chen Yu-Ju took the lead by 4-under-par 68, Huang Ching 2 strokes behind solo as second.
Yang Fei-Chian 2-over-par 74 led Amateur Ladies group A. Amateur Men group B leaders are You Xuan-An, Chen Liang-Yu and Xu De-Lun, 6-over-par 78. Lu Yun-Ping 10-over-par 82 led Amateur Ladies group B. Tsai Rui-Heng 7-over-par 79 led Amateur Group C.
The weather at Taiwan Golf club was gloomy and humid but suitable for a golf competition. Chen Yu-Ju started from hole 10 made 4 birdies 1 eagle and 2 bogeys, standing solo on the top of leader board by 4-under-par 68, which was the lowest score of the day and only player who had eagle.
She was satisfied with her performance, birdie from first hole, eagle at the forth hole with her second shot from 220-230 yards away and putt in from 4-5 steps. She considered she had hit her standard bar and almost no mistake made; only couple holes miss controlled and pulled to the right.
Huang Ching as runner-up was bogey free and 2 birdies, 2-under-par 70. She analyzed that tee-off shots didn’t went well but putting were good, 1 birdies each in and out. She described the fairway designed was narrow and hard to find the ball in the woods. Tomorrow, she will follow her tempo in every shot.
Kuo Ai-Chen made 3 birdies and 2 bogeys, 1-under-par 71 posted the 3rd temporarily; she thought overall performed well, only hard to putt in the holes which she regrets the most. Lin Tze-Chi, Lee Hsin, Yeh Hsin-Ning and Chen Min-Jou shared the 4th.
Meanwhile, Lee Chia-Pei had the most dramatically round start from hole 10, since she was 1-under-par acting top 3 after 16 holes, sadly a bogey at hole 8 occurred following a triple-bogey at hole 9, result in 3-over-par 72 and dragged her down to 10th place.
Final round players will separately from hole 1 and 10 tomorrow, first group tee-off time 6:30, last group tee-off time 8:10. The award ceremony estimated at 13:30.
Pacifilinks continued to sponsor this year and set special prize for OOM winner for the second time, the winner will receive half a million Taiwan Dollars from Pacifilinks and the title “Pacifilinks Bounty Queen”, which add the tense to TLPGA Tour this year.
In the other hand, Swinging Skirts Golf Foundation will provide two spots to Amateur top 2 players, age between 12-19 years old, attend 2017 Swinging Skirts AJGA Invitational in US from Aug.14-17.
