2017 IOA Championship started from tomorrow (Mar.24) Taiwan time 10:20pm at California Morongo Golf course, total 27 country and 132 players (including 6 amateurs) competing, in the field there’s 8 Taiwan professional players and 4 amateurs joining this co-certificated tournament by Symetra Tour and TLPGA Tour.
The tournament total prize money under USD100,000, winner will be rewarded USD15,000. This is the 2nd tournament out of USA Symetra Tour 21 tournaments; it is also the second year co-certificate between TLPGA Tour and Symetra Tour.
Start from this week in California there will be three co-certificated tournaments in a row that is more than last year, it’s also the proof of TLPGA Tour seeking international cooperation elevating tournament values and giving Taiwan players a wider stage worldwide. Currently there are three-year co-certificated tournaments with Philippines Tour, the second year with Symetra Tour.
Symetra Tour annual OOM top 10 will receive player card to participate 2018 LPGA Tour.
Tomorrow will start first round and separated in two sections from 1st and 10th tee; morning session 7:20am, last group 9:10; afternoon session 12:00pm, last group 13:50pm.
The game situated at south California and east Los Angeles city Beaumont Morongo Golf Club, holding a 54 holes 3 round tournament, course total 6509 yards.
The field gathers the best players around world; including 27-country Thailand, USA, China, New Zealand, German, Australia, Argentina, Philippines, Canada, South Africa, Venezuela, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom, England, Hungary, France, Finland, Brazil, Scotland, Korea, Latvia, Mexico, Spain, Ecuador, Trinidad and Taiwan.
Symetra Tour released 12 spots to Taiwan including 8 professional players Doris Chen, Yu-Ju Chen, Rebecca Tsai, Szu-Hsuan Huang, Ching Huang, Edith Huang, Scooby Liu and Yi-Ling Liang; the other 4 amateurs Tze-Han Lin, Yu-Hsin Yen, Chieh Jessica Peng and 15-year-old Tzu-Yi Chang, she is the youngest player in the field.
After last Symetra Tour first tournament in Florida, winner Olivia Jordan-Higgins is seeking for winning streak this week, she is now ranked No.1 on OOM. Former winner Erynne Lee from Washington and 2015 winner Katie Kempter are also seeking for their second win.
The cut line will set at top 60 and tie after two rounds into the final round. |
