KUO Ai-Chen from Taiwan shot 73, total 1-under-par 143 soloed fifth place, currently the best Taiwan player on the score board.
Chihiro Ikeda from Philippines made 70, total 4-under-par 140 placed as third place, only 1-stroke-behind leaders.
First round leader Kanphanitnan MUANGKHUMSAKUL played 73 today, total 142 with three shots behind soloed forth place.
17-year-old amateur HOU Yu-Sang eagled her first hole and shot 71, total even-par 144 which has the same score with Princess Mary SUPERAL, tied sixth and 5 strokes behind leaders.
HSIEH Yu-Ling was 5th place yesterday but dropped to 15th after she played 77 today, her woods weren’t performing well, so as her putter. Total 148 at 15th place also seeing talented amateur HOU Yu-Chiang 71 and LIN Tzu-Chi 73 today, as well as two other Thailand players.
HUANG Ching from Taiwan played 72, total 145 and shared 8th place with Thai player.
LEE Jeong-Hwa had 5 birdies and 1 bogey, 35-33 that was the lowest score of the day. She is so ready to embrace her third title on LPGT, hope to play 67 tomorrow.
Saranporn has a great putt today total 26 putt, she said she had a great game and will continue the momentum tomorrow.
KUO Ai-Chen still remains great short games to made 4 birdies, even so, there’s also 5 bogeys due to troubled driver. Hole 14 was on the green by Pitch along with 6-foot birdie putt; hole 8 on the green by 5 iron remained 18-foot birdie putt; hole 16 and 18 were birdied by splendid short games. Total 28 putts today.
Most of her bogeys due to the mistakes from driver and irons, only 50% fairway hits today, “there’s too many error today, I have to reduce my error in final round and find a chance to play aggressively” she said. She made 38-35 today.
Amateur HOU Yu-Sang had an eagle, 3 birdies, 2 bogeys and 1 double bogey. The eagle happened at the first hole, second shot on the fairway 62 yards to the hole and magically chipped in. Hole 9 birdied by 40-foot putt; Hole 12 birdied by accurate 8-iron from 150 yards away left 8-foot to hole; hole 18 with her stunning short game left 3-foot easy birdie putt.
Double bogey happened due to OB tee-shot on hole 4. Bogeys due to missing 5-foot putt on hole 2 and error tee-shot on hole 13, which she also missed the 15-foot putt.
This is her first time to Philippines, “My putts were great today, only 24, as well as my short irons. Overall performance were great, but hopefully my woods could be better.” She said.
When asking HOU that she still has 5 strokes to catch and how to manage final round? She said she wouldn’t think of the trophy too much, but follow her tempo and focus on every shot.
Chihiro Ikeda only one stroke behind and look forward perform well on her irons, which is she really good at. Playing at least 3-under-par tomorrow is her target.
After the second round, the cut line set at 14-above-par and total 58 players will enter the final round.
Final round tee-off from 1st and 10th tee; first group tee-off at 07:00am and last group 08:30am. The award ceremony estimated to start at 01:00pm.
Total prize money USD 80,000; USD 17,000 for winner and USD 8500 for runner-up. The tournament will play over three rounds (54 holes). Above event co-sanctioned by TLPGA and LPGT (Ladies Philippine Golf Tour), it is the third co-sanctioned event of the year and the final tournament of TLPGA 2016 season. This is also the 10th and final tournament of LPGT 2016 season. |
