2016 TLPGA Open with total prize money NT$2.5 million, Ssu-Chia CHENG shot a 65 today with total 10-under-par 134 step up as leader; Min LEE with one shot behind 9-under-par chasing.
Ssu-Chia CHENG, as one of the LPGA members, made 7 birdies and bogey free, 7-under-par 65 was the lowest score of the day and her lowest score of the year. This has lifted her straight from 6th place yesterday to leader.
CHENG thought the performance was normal today; it was regretful to miss four birdies on the way. But she’s very satisfied the 30-foot putt birdie at hole 18 outside the green.
Min LEE, also one of the LPGA members, caught 6 birdies and bogey free; place as 2nd with total 135. She has stayed in US over a year, therefore, it’s so happy to see many old friends; she felt relax and took the chance to tag along with friends in Taiwan. There was 2 holes did not on the green in regulation, but luckily saved par.
LEE hasn’t played at Royal Kuan-His Golf Club for 2 years and it’s lucky to play in this pleasant weather; she won’t overthink for the final round tomorrow, just relax and have fun with the players. LEE admitted the improvement while in US all this time; she honestly thought even if the resource or limited in Taiwan, it never stops domestic players to play golf.
Pei-Yun CHEN has her ideal round today with 6 birdies and 3 bogeys, total 139 lifted her from 11th place now shared the 5th place with Yu-Ju Chen. She claimed overall performance was great today, only 28 putt. Only regret for one 3-putt at hole 3, another miss for 3-foot putt at hole 18. Hopefully, tomorrow the driver would be as good as today.
Yi-Ching Wu also made a large move from 24th to 7th place by 6 birdies and 2 bogeys, total 140. She shared the place with Thailand’s Saraporn CHAMCHOI, by 29 putts today and great sense for the birdies. She will play step by step and do her best on the final round.
China’s Yan LIU was the leader after first round, but shot 1 birdie and 4 bogeys 75 today, total 142 dropped her heavily to 13th.
Amateurs’ first round leader Yu-Chiang HOU played 3 birdies, 4 bogeys and 1 double bogeys, 3-over par-75. Two rounds total 145 made her slipped from 11th to 26th place, even though, she still lead among all amateurs.
The cut-off line is 4-over-par total 148, only 54 players made to the final round. Players will tee-off at 7:00am from both tees tomorrow; last tee-off time is 8:20am. The tournament estimated to end at 13:00pm, award ceremony will start from 13:30pm. |
