Taiwan player Chia-Pei LEE and two Thai players Pimpadsorn SANGKAGARO and Thanuttra BOONRAKSASAT shared the third place with one shot behind the leaders.
Yan LIU from China as her first visit in Taiwan does not need time for adaption, she made 7 birdies 2 bogeys though she thought her performance was normal but at her standard. She was still satisfied with the 7 birdies and only missed one fairway with her driver, including hole 7th 40-foot long birdie putt made her so thrilled. The short putts didn’t went well today, she missed two 3-foot putting and felt so regretful at the short par 5 which also missed a 3-foot putt.
This is Yan LIU’s rookie year, turned pro in August and has played six tournaments since then. She made to the leader group in three of the events, unfortunately didn’t stick to the end. Lowest score is 65 at Xiamen Open International. Yan LIU plans to keep her pace in the second round; she would definitely seize the opportunity to challenge her first professional win.
Chia-Pei LEE with best performance among Taiwan players made 5 birdies 1 bogeys total 68; she claimed the only bogey happened at hole 10, the ball pulled to the left while tee off and was blocked by the rough. She was still satisfied with her short game during hole 15, which saved the par by 6-foot putt.
Yu-Ju Chen made 5 birdies 2 bogeys, 3-under-par 69; shared the sixth place with Taiwan’s Min Lee, Ssu-Chia Cheng, Malaysia’s Aretha HERNG PAN and Japan’s Motomi AOKI. Chen with poor performance during the first nine holes, which made her more conservative in the following holes and brought to a good outcome, thanks to her stable irons.
Ssu-Chia CHENG made 3 birdies today and found the weather was unexpectedly hot; compared to TLPGA & Royal Open in January, it was actually snowing. Even though, she still follow her pace and amend the first three holes with remarkable chippings. Recently, she’s adjusting the swing and haven’t reach to a stable stage, but she is still happy with her overall performance today.
TLPGA & Royal Open is Tzu-Chi LIN’s 4th professional win. She made 2 birdies today, currently place 11th with 3 shot behind; there’s still great chance for her in the following days to chase for the 5th win.
Yi-Ting LAI and Yu-Chiang HOU shared the lead among amateur players with 2-under-par 70, place 11th as result with professional players Min-Jou CHEN, Pei-Yun CHIEN, Tzu-Chi LIN, Dianne LUKE(MAS), Sock-Hwee KOH(SIN) and Wannasiri SIRISAMPANT(THA).
Sophomore year at TPCU, Yi-Ting LAI thought it’s just another normal day for her; 33 putts but missed 4 holes, left her a lot space to improve. She think most importantly is to handle every shot properly tomorrow. Next year she plans to turn pro.
