Today is the final round for 2016 BNP PARIBAS & TLPGA Heritage Tour, total prize-money NT$600,000. Rebecca TSAI with six over par total 150 to win her first champion at Ta Shee Golf & Country Club, the victory earned her NT$71,000. Sky SU and HUANG Yu-Ning shared the second place with 2 strokes behind, they both earned NT$40,500.
Congrats to the amateurs group A winner HUNG Jo-Hua, total 150(73,77); group B winner HUANG Yu-Ping, total 158(78,80); group B boy div. winner XIAO Yu-Kai, total 150(75,75).
The weather turned well today at Ta Shee GCC, Rebecca TSAI led from the start though with no birdies but 3 bogeys. She was thrilled to win her first victory since turned pro last September.
Rebecca recalled her driver didn’t work well today but the short games saved the day. The bogeys happened at hole 2 while she missed the 5 foot putt; at hole 4 the ball went from rough to bunker, at last she missed the putt to save par; at hole 13 missed the green with 50 yards away, in the end still missed the putt to save par. Rebecca was not regret with no birdies but focus on every stroke with her best performance.
Sky SU with dramatic fell in the last two holes yesterday, started from the 9th place but got off to a fast start, result in 2 birdies and 3 bogeys 73, two rounds total 152, tied at second place with HUANG Yu-Ning. Sky recalled she has suffered a lot in the bunkers from the first round; therefore her strategy today was to avoid the bunkers and it worked out perfectly!
HUANG Yu-Ning tied at second place, no birdies but 3 bogeys today. She was pleased with her overall performance, though the driver weren’t straight but the short games and bunker savings made her day.
WU Hsiao-Ling started from 7th place shot 4 bogeys today total 154, which led her to share the 4th place with SHIH Huei-Ju. She said there’s few holes that tee boxes has moved forward a bit, made the course easier today. Though there’s a bit mistake on chippings, overall performances are acceptable but still have a lot to improve.
LIANG Yi-Lin who was the leader yesterday played an unexpected 83, she made 5 bogeys 3 double bogeys total 157 which result in 12th place. She thought today was so unlucky, hole 2 and 7 in the water hazard, hole 17 lost ball in the other fairway.
Amateur group A winner HUNG Jo-Hua performed 73 the lowest score in first round, made 77 today total 150, same a professional group champion Rebecca TSAI. HUNG said due to unstable long irons and inaccurate distance control while chipping, which caused her performance not as well as first round. She lost the count for this win, but she figured this should be the fourth of this year.
On the award ceremony, HSIEH Shu-Qin the titled sponsor BNP Paribas Taiwan Division CEO also participated. TLPGA Chairman LIU Yi-Chen gave a big praised to CEO HSIEH with her long friendship, and appreciate the long-term support by BNP Paribas. |
