Date:2016-09-09

2016 Party Golfers Ladies Open final round take place at National Golf Country Club today, Sept 9th. Taiwan player Chen I-Wen reversed the game from 5 strokes behind to 2 strokes lead.  Additional from the champion prize money NT540,000, on the award ceremony Chairman Wu Hui-Zhen announced an bonus of NT300,000 sponsored by Party Golfers.  Therefore, Chen I-Wen pocketed NT840,000.

She made one eagle, six birdies and one bogey, fires a sizzling seven-under-par 65, Chen’s three-day total of ten-under-par 206 lead her to the champion.  65 is also her career best round low.

This is Chen’s second open win at Taiwan tour, her first win was last year at Lunch Club TPC Classic.  She also won a two-round Chung Cheng Heritage Tour in the same year.

Two Thai players Saraporn CHAMCHOI and Saranporn LANGKULGASETTRIN made 67 and 68 respectively, both with total eight-under-par 208, two strokes behind sharing second place, receive NT231,000 each.

China “Sweet Heart” Shi Yu-Ting made 67 today, three-day total of seven-under-par 209, grab a share of 4th place with Thai players Supamas SANGCHAN and Thanuttra BOONRAKSASAT who played 71 and 68 repectively.

Starting with two strokes lead, 16 years old amateur Lin Tze-Han couldn’t find her tempo in the front nine holes, but she recovered well in the following nine holes and made 74 today, total 210 and shared the 7th place with Yu Pei-Lin who played 69 today. Though Lin could not win the game, she still finished as champion in amateur group.

In addition, Chairman Wei Ping-Hua sponsored “Eagle Prize” for Taiwan natives, every eagle made will receive NT5,000 each; after three rounds, four players as follow made eagles: Pan Yen-Ling, Huang Ching, Chen Tze-Han and Chen I-Wen.

The weather is cloudy today and the committee has allowed preferred lies(one club length) in play.

“I was really surprised to win this tournament, I didn’t think much all the way, I just performed the best I have.” Said Chen I-Wen “Unexpectedly, I made three birdies in the front nine with 33, when I reached total of six-under-par so that I found I’m only three strokes behind leading Thai player Supamas. There’s a great chance to lead ahead in the back nine!  And then it happens from 11th hole, birdie-birdie-eagle-birdie, all the way to 14th hole. I’m also surprised and keep asking to myself what happened, this is so much like playing video games!” Recalled from Chen.

After Chen I-Wen made the eagle at hole 13, she took one stroke lead from Supamas with nine-under-par. After the birdie at hole 14, that’s two strokes lead; though she did not made any birdie after hole 14, no one could ever catch up. Chen started from the fourth group today, therefore she returned to 18th hole receive the celebration splash from her teammate when all the players finished the game.

“My woods, irons and putter are very accurate today, especially with the birdie putt over 18 foot, 24 foot and 30 foot. I even had the eagle at hole 13 with a 30 foot long putting.” Said Chen.

She also pointed out the last four holes are really tense, she tried to play better but it’s a bit tough in the end. Luckily, there are no other players catching up.

This year with the experience at Japan Development Tour, Chen has matured a lot though the best result is 9th place. She’s going for Japan Development Tour again next week, also planned for Japan Qschool this year; her short-term goal is to get first win at Japan Development Tour.

Lin Tze-Han amateur player sponsored by Swinging Skirts, started with two shots lead, but made three bogeys after 10 holes. “I lost my swinging tempo although my woods still manage fairway hits, but my irons as well as putter couldn’t work with accuracy; luckily, I started to recover and made the only birdie at hole 12, result with 7th place.” Said Lin.

Lin learned a lot from this game, it’s not tense as she imagined; she also realized her pros and cons during this tournament. “In the middle of the game, when I heard Chen I-Wen was at lead, I suddenly felt relief. It’s really a great pressure for me against all the Thai players; I’m so glad the trophy is still in Taiwan player’s hand!” Said Lin.

Wu Hui-Zhen, Chairman of Party Golfers, delighted to announce Chen I-Wen’s reversed on the award ceremony, keep the trophy in Taiwan.  “We will keep running this tournament, and wish all the Taiwan players remarkable performance all around the world” Said Wu.
