2016 Party Golfers Ladies Open Press Conference Recap
Date:2016-09-06

“2016 Party Golfers Ladies Open” will be held at National Golf Country Club from September 7th to 9th, 3 rounds 54 hole stroke-play with a total purse of NT3,000,000.

This is the third consecutive year for Party Golfers Ladies Open, attracting from 6 countries totaling 95 entries, 80 professional players and 15 young amateurs to attend.  Champion will receive NT540,000 while second place will receive NT288,000. Top 50 and ties will make cut after two rounds.

Before the pro-am event, press conference was commenced in the morning at NGCC.  Attendees including Party Golfers Chairman Wu Hui-Zhen, CEO Lin Li-Zhen, former Chairman Huang Zhou-Chie, former Chairman Chen Guo-Yuan, NGCC General Manager Roy Wu, TLPGA President Liu Yi-Chen, TLPGA Tournament Director Lo Shu-Cheng and Players Representative Kuo Ai-Chen.

Chairman Wu Hui-Zhen emphasizes the need for private enterprises to step up to support Taiwan golf sport, since support from government is insufficient.  And, Party Golfers Ladies Open arises 3 years ago, when team members are inspired by TLPGA’s strong determination to join the UN of golf, Women World’s Golf Rankings (WWGR).  Now in the third year, we hope this tournament will keep going, attracting more enthusiasts to support ladies golf in Taiwan.” Said Chairman Wu.

CEO Lin Hui-Zhen recalls the journey as a incredible one.  Perfect teamwork is what pulled us through the 3 years.   “I feel honored to be a part of ladies golf movement.  Taiwan seldom has a sport that could compete internationally, and ladies golf is one of it.  And most important of all is that we continuously breed young talents each year.”  Said Lin.

The pro-am event was cut short due to heavy rain yet it did not affect the party golfers from having fun.  During the dinner banquet, CEO Lin announced that during tournament rounds any player who made hole-in-one will receive NT300,000 award.  In addition, Taiwanese pro players will receive NT5,000 bonus for each eagle made.

Tomorrow first round players will start respectively from both 1st and 10th tee.  First group tee off at 7:00am and last group tee off at 9:15am.

For the international entries, we have players from Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, Korea and China. Notables are Saraporn CHAMCHOI who is now 3rd place at China Tour OOM and Chinese “Sweet Heart” Shi Yu-Ting who just won her first professional win at Zhu-Hai international Challenge Tour in March, performing as 2nd place at China Tour OOM.

This July, Taiwan was second time invited to attend International Crown Cup as 5th seed in the world, and finished tied 3rd place; in August, top two Taiwanese players gained eligibility at Olympics in Rio and received good marks.

Party Golfers being the main sponsor for this tournament, 80% of sponsorship comes from teammates and the former chairmen made major contributions.  NGCC general manager Mr. Roy Wu also plays a big part in making this tournament possible, with his unconditional support over the three years.
