Chairman of Jing-Du Construction Huang Kuo-Ming (黃國明) proudly announced during the pre-tournament press conference that Jing-Du Construction Co., Ltd. has joined the growing list of TLPGA sponsors and stepped up as the title sponsor of the 2014 Jing-Du Construction Charity Ladies Open, which will lift its curtain on Aug 6 at the Tong Hwa Golf & Country Club.
The 54-hole event will be co-organized by Have-Love Social Welfare Foundation and Tseng Yani International, boosting a NT$3 million purse to offer to a total of 97 players from 11 countries.
The Jing-Du Construction Charity Ladies Open becomes also the first TLPGA event supported by an enterprise from construction industry.
“We’re delighted to announce this exciting new partnership,” said Liu Yi-Chen, TLPGA Chairwoman. “Having Jing-Du Construction join the TLPGA family will enable both of us to provide a richer golf environment to develop a more competitive field of women’s golf in Taiwan.”
The top four Taiwanese female golfers, Yani Tseng (曾雅妮), Teresa Lu (盧曉晴), Candie Kung (龔怡萍), and Phoebe Yao (姚宣榆), with a combined world rankings as high as 7th, helped Taiwan make an elite squad of eight nations, who will be competing for the first “International Crown”, a biennial LPGA team event debuting in just two weeks.
“The moment I learnt that we (Taiwan) made it to the best eight, the emotion was a wonderful one to take in,” expressed Mr. Huang. “I’ve always believed Yani’s achievement is more than a one of a kind, and that more youngsters and even the younger generations in Taiwan will be inspired to strive for continuous glories to our homeland.” “And Jing-Du would love to be a part of this journey.”
Stars voicing their support and thanks on the press conference to the inaugural event included Shih Huei-Ju (石惠如), Yvonne Weng (翁子琁), Yeh Hsin-Ning (葉欣寧), Kuo Ai-Chen (郭艾榛), Liang Yi-Ling (梁宜羚), Pan Yen-Ling (潘彥伶), Chien Pei-Yun (錢珮芸), Ashley Lai (賴婉婷), Huang Shu-Huai (黃舒淮), Lynn Chiu (邱齡緹), and Chang Li-Chen (張莉偵).
Revenue from ticket sale and leveraging activities will be donated to the Have-Love Social Welfare Foundation and partly as a development fund for the TLPGA.
